Agents tear down anti-ICE sign, say, ‘we’re taking America back’

Fox News is reporting that federal authorities have been carrying out a series of immigration arrests in Washington, D.C. following President Donald Trump’s takeover of law enforcement in the city. In a video posted by ICE on its official X account, agents were seen ripping down a vulgar anti-ICE sign in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
"We’re taking America back, baby," one of the agents said as he crumpled up the sign. The video showed a group of masked agents tearing down a sign that read "F*** ICE" and "Mount Pleasant Melts ICE" in both Spanish and English.
Speaking in Spanish, one of the agents declared, "This is for America. The United States is No. 1. We’re taking it back again." The agency’s post emphasized their dedication to removing criminals from American cities, stating, "ICE is dedicated to removing criminals from American cities, and D.C. is no exception. Make D.C. Safe Again!"
This crackdown on crime in the capital comes as federal officials from ICE, DEA, Border Patrol, and other agencies have flooded the city. Trump recently federalized the Metropolitan Police Department in response to a surge in violent crimes and attacks. Under his control, all sanctuary policies in the city have been overturned.
In an interview on Fox News, Trump Border Czar Tom Homan stated, "D.C. under federal control is not going to be a sanctuary city." He emphasized that criminal illegal aliens would be turned over to ICE for deportation, ensuring that they would not be protected in the city.
The presence of federal law enforcement and military personnel in Washington, D.C. has intensified in recent days, with National Guard soldiers and military tactical vehicles deployed to critical points in the city. The crackdown on crime is a top priority for the Trump administration as they aim to restore law and order in the nation’s capital.
