College football: Bill Belichick steals 4-star recruit from Deion Sanders

Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels have made a major addition to their roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Wide receiver Adrian Wilson, who previously played under Coach Prime at Colorado, has announced his transfer to UNC to play under Belichick in Chapel Hill.

Wilson, a highly touted four-star recruit and the No. 32 wide receiver in the Class of 2025, was one of Deion Sanders’ top recruits for the Buffaloes program. After entering the transfer portal, he chose to join the Tar Heels and bring his talents to North Carolina.

This move is part of a trend for Belichick and his coaching staff, who have been actively using the transfer portal to bolster their roster. Earlier in the week, they secured the commitment of linebacker Mikai Gbayor from Nebraska and Missouri.

Additionally, the Tar Heels have added three former Washington Huskies defensive players to their lineup, thanks to the efforts of Steve Belichick, who previously served as defensive coordinator at Washington before joining his father at UNC.

Hailing from Texas, Wilson originally signed with Colorado in December and enrolled early at the university after initially committing to Arizona State. His addition to the Tar Heels’ roster brings a new level of talent and depth to the wide receiver position.

Looking ahead, Belichick is expected to continue utilizing the transfer portal to strengthen the team further, with a particular focus on upgrading the quarterback position. South Alabama’s Gio Lopez is a quarterback that North Carolina has reportedly been linked to as a potential addition to the team.

Meanwhile, Deion Sanders and Colorado will be on the lookout for new talent to fill the void left by Wilson’s departure. With Sanders’ son Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter expected to be first-round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Buffaloes will be looking to build on their success and continue to develop top-tier talent.
