Computer gamers, rejoice – latest gear unveiled at Computex
Taiwan’s Computex 2025 recently wrapped up, showcasing the latest and greatest in computer hardware. This annual event, now in its 44th year, is one of the biggest tech trade shows in Asia and on the planet. This year’s event focused on gaming gear, artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT trends, and the future of mobility.
One of the standout moments at Computex was when Taiwanese President, Lai Ching-te, was upstaged by Jensen Huang, the president and CEO of Nvidia and one of the richest men in the world. The crowd went wild for Jensen, who took the time to shake hands with attendees, including yours truly.
ASUS made a big splash at Computex with its budget-friendly TUF Gaming T500 gaming desktop, which features a laptop processor but packs a punch with a full-size graphics card. With tariffs affecting PC prices, the TUF Gaming T500 starts at just $1,299 USD and is set to launch this summer.
ASUS also showcased innovative peripherals like the ROG Falcata mechanical keyboard, which splits in half for customizable positioning. The company’s monitors, like the ROG Strix II Ace XG248QSG, offer impressive refresh rates for smooth gameplay.
Chinese brand Colorful drew attention with its iGame Neptune Series PC, a futuristic-looking desktop with a dual radiator stack for enhanced cooling. The Gigabyte A16 Pro gaming laptop also impressed with its powerful specs and advanced cooling system.
Huawei unveiled the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design Laptop, an 18-inch display that folds in half for versatile usage. While unique, this innovative device comes at a high price point.
During my visit to Taipei, I had the opportunity to tour ASUS’s headquarters, where over ten thousand employees work on design, engineering, and testing. The facility boasts amenities like restaurants, swimming pools, gyms, and Japanese gardens, creating a unique work culture for employees.
Overall, Computex 2025 was a showcase of cutting-edge technology and innovation in the computer hardware industry. With exciting new products on the horizon, the future of tech looks bright.
