Conan O’Brien to host Oscars next year

Conan O’Brien to Host the Academy Awards in 2025
After a successful turn by Jimmy Kimmel as host of the Academy Awards last year, the Oscars will now be in the capable hands of another beloved TV comedian – Conan O’Brien.
“America demanded it and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars,” O’Brien announced on Friday.
While this will be O’Brien’s first time hosting the Oscars, he is no stranger to emceeing high-profile awards shows. He has previously hosted the Emmy Awards in 2002 and 2006, as well as the White House Correspondents’ dinner in 1995 and 2013.
Viewers can catch the Oscars live on ABC on March 2, 2025.
O’Brien is most well-known for his hosting stints on late-night talk shows such as “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” and “Conan.” Prior to his hosting career, O’Brien worked as a writer on “Saturday Night Live” and “The Simpsons.”
Joining the ranks of legendary Oscar hosts like Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, and Whoopi Goldberg, O’Brien is set to bring his own brand of humor to the prestigious event.
“He joins an iconic roster of comedy greats who have served in this role, and we are so lucky to have him center stage for the Oscars,” said Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group.
