Congresswoman asks Fort Liberty whistleblowers to come forward after NYE attacks

A Florida congresswoman and Air Force veteran is urging anyone who encountered New Orleans terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar or Las Vegas bomber Matthew Livelsberger at Fort Liberty, formerly Fort Bragg, to contact her office for information. Additionally, she is seeking information on failed assassin Ryan Routh, who was arrested at President-elect Donald Trump’s Florida golf course while allegedly aiming a rifle through the fence.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna posted on X Thursday night, offering whistleblower protection and intake information for individuals at Fort Bragg (Liberty) who may have information on these three men but are hesitant to come forward to their chain of command.

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who attacked New Orleans’ Bourbon Street with a pickup truck before dying in a shootout with responding officers, and Matthew Livelsberger, who exploded inside a Cybertruck near Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, both had ties to Fort Bragg. However, the Army clarified that there was no overlap in the time they were stationed at the base.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill disclosed that both men went to Afghanistan in 2009, but investigations into potential ties between them were ongoing. They both used the Turo app to rent electric pickup trucks used in their respective incidents.

Jabbar, a former human resources and IT specialist in the Army Reserve, and Livelsberger, an active-duty Army Green Beret, had different military backgrounds. Livelsberger, in his manifesto, indicated that his actions were a “wake-up call,” citing PTSD and family problems as potential factors.

Jabbar’s attack on Bourbon Street resulted in multiple casualties, with the FBI confirming his allegiance to ISIS and labeling him a domestic terrorist. Authorities have not definitively linked his attack to Livelsberger’s explosion in Las Vegas, but investigations are ongoing.

For those with information on these individuals or incidents, Rep. Luna’s office is providing a means to come forward and contribute to the ongoing investigations. The urgency of uncovering any potential connections or patterns between these events highlights the importance of collaboration and information-sharing in addressing threats to public safety.
