Connecticut House Democrats report being targeted by bomb threats on Thanksgiving
Four Connecticut House Democrats, including Reps. Fortunately, all threats were deemed unfounded after thorough investigations.
Rep. Jim Himes, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, received a notification about a bomb threat at his home in Greenwich while celebrating Thanksgiving with his family. Thanks to the swift response from the United States Capitol Police, Greenwich Police Department, and Stamford Police Department, no evidence of a bomb was found. Similarly, Rep. Jahana Hayes was informed by the Wolcott Police Department of a threatening email claiming a pipe bomb had been placed in her mailbox. Hayes expressed gratitude for the prompt action taken by law enforcement and reiterated that there is no place for political violence in society.
