Connecticut senator says mysterious drones ‘should be shot down, if necessary’

In a recent interview on Capitol Hill, Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut expressed his concerns about the mysterious drones that have been spotted flying over states in the mid-Atlantic region. The senator emphasized the need for intelligence analysis on these drones and called for more aggressive action against the sightings that have been reported.

Blumenthal stated that if the drones are flying over sensitive areas such as airports or military bases, they should be taken out of the skies, even if it means shooting them down. He criticized the lack of information on the drones, questioning their origins and ownership, and described the situation as “absolutely unacceptable.”

The sightings of large drones over New Jersey in recent weeks have raised alarm, with reports of similar sightings in Connecticut as well. The senator’s comments come amidst growing concerns about the potential threats posed by these unidentified drones.

While White House national security communications adviser John Kirby has stated that many of the reported drone sightings are actually lawfully operated manned aircraft, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the FBI are currently investigating the matter. Kirby mentioned that there is no evidence of a national security threat or malicious intent behind the drone sightings, but the investigation is ongoing.

Blumenthal highlighted the fear and terror that these drones are causing among constituents in the New York metropolitan area, Connecticut, and New Jersey. He stressed the importance of a congressional briefing on the matter to address these concerns and provide clarity to the American people.

The senator also warned against using Chinese-manufactured drones, citing them as potential sources of surveillance data for security threats. He urged Americans to opt for drones manufactured in the USA to ensure national security.

As the investigation into the mysterious drones continues, Blumenthal’s calls for decisive action and heightened security measures reflect the growing unease surrounding the sightings in the mid-Atlantic region. The need for transparency and swift resolution to this issue is paramount to safeguarding public safety and national security.
