Sanctuary city policies will lead to slate of migrant assassinations, experts warns

The Tren de Aragua (TdA) is an international criminal group that originated in a Venezuelan prison and has since spread its influence across Latin America and into the United States. Led by the socialist Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, TdA has been trained and sponsored by the Venezuelan government to sow chaos and violence throughout the Western hemisphere.

Jose Gustavo Arocha, a former lieutenant colonel in the Venezuelan army and an expert on TdA, has issued a stark warning that if sanctuary city and state policies are allowed to continue in the U.S., the country will soon be facing a wave of targeted assassinations. Arocha, who was imprisoned by Maduro for eight months before fleeing the country, emphasized that TdA is a state-sponsored organization with the capability to carry out violent attacks on law enforcement officials, political leaders, and enemies of the Maduro regime.

Recent movements to defund the police and establish sanctuary city policies only serve to embolden and enable TdA to operate with impunity in the U.S. Arocha stressed that it is crucial to take action now to prevent TdA from further embedding itself in American communities and carrying out its criminal activities on a larger scale.

Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, also highlighted the dangers of sanctuary policies in combating TdA. She pointed to a case where a TdA member murdered a former Venezuelan police officer in Miami, illustrating the group’s willingness to commit violent crimes in the U.S.

Vaughan emphasized the importance of local law enforcement agencies cooperating with federal authorities like ICE to root out TdA members hiding in sanctuary jurisdictions. While some states have taken steps to address the TdA threat, Vaughan stressed the need for a coordinated effort at the federal level to dismantle the organization.

In conclusion, the Tren de Aragua poses a significant threat to public safety in the U.S., and it is imperative that action is taken to prevent the group from carrying out targeted assassinations and other violent crimes. By ending sanctuary policies and promoting collaboration between local and federal law enforcement agencies, the U.S. can work towards dismantling TdA and safeguarding communities from its destructive influence.
