Tragedy Strikes: Teen Hockey Player Collapses and Dies During Charity Game
A devastating incident occurred during a charity hockey game in Bethpage, New York, as 17-year-old Connor Kasin collapsed and later passed away, authorities confirmed.
Connor Kasin, a senior at Massapequa High School on Long Island, tragically lost consciousness during the game held on Saturday night, which was organized to benefit a foundation established by the parents of Sabrina Navaretta, a local teen who lost her life in a car accident in April 2023.
The Nassau County Police Department revealed that individuals at the skating rink in Bethpage immediately began administering CPR before officers and medics arrived on the scene.
Despite efforts to save him, Kasin was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of his untimely passing.
Massapequa High School released a statement informing students and families of Kasin’s tragic death, expressing profound sorrow over the loss and extending heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.
In a show of respect for Kasin’s family, the New York Islanders High School Hockey League, responsible for organizing high school hockey competitions on Long Island, made the decision to cancel all games scheduled for the following day.
