Conor McGregor calls sexual assault claim ‘full blown lie’
Mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor took the stand in Dublin, Ireland, on Wednesday to testify against a woman who is suing him for sexual assault. McGregor adamantly denied the allegations, stating that he had consensual sex with the woman and claimed that she fabricated the entire story.
The alleged incident took place on December 9, 2018, in a penthouse at a Dublin hotel. The woman accused McGregor of brutally raping and assaulting her, causing her to suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. However, McGregor refuted these claims, stating that everything the woman said was a lie.
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, police did not bring charges against McGregor after conducting an investigation. The defence team presented evidence in court, including surveillance video, which they claimed showed the woman kissing McGregor’s arm and hugging him after they left the hotel room.
During his testimony, McGregor denied the woman’s account of him putting her in a headlock and threatening her life. He also dismissed her claims that the sex was rough, insisting that it was consensual and not forced. McGregor went on to describe the woman’s allegations as a fantasy and suggested that her bruises were the result of an unrelated incident.
In a surprising revelation, McGregor revealed that the woman’s bruises may have been caused by her taking a “swan dive” into a bath while they were partying. He expressed disbelief that anyone would believe he would highlight his shortcomings in such a manner.
Overall, McGregor maintained his innocence throughout the trial, portraying the woman’s claims as false and fabricated. The outcome of the case remains uncertain, but McGregor’s testimony sheds light on a contentious legal battle that has captured public attention.
