Conservatives erupt with praise on social media after Trump’s speech to Congress

Following President Donald Trump’s lengthy address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night, conservatives took to social media to express their reactions. The speech, which lasted nearly two hours, garnered praise from many on the right, who commended Trump for his performance and criticized the Democratic response.

Former Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh took to social media to exclaim, “Peak Trump. That’s what that was.” Trump administration senior advisor for the U.S. Agency for Global Media, Kari Lake, posted, “Who else feels like they could run through a wall for America after that? HE’S BACK.”

Trump’s Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins praised the President, stating, “The President took a victory lap tonight – and he deserves to. He’s completely right that the first month of his Presidency was more consequential than most four-year Presidencies.” Rollins emphasized that Trump’s speech was not just a look back, but a look forward, reinforcing his promise to put America first.

GOP Rep. Nancy Mace lauded Trump as “the best President in American history,” while conservative commentator Mark Levin described the speech as “fabulous.” GOP Rep. Derek Schmidt highlighted Trump’s strength and commitment to delivering on his promises for a safe and prosperous nation.

Despite the positive reception from conservatives, many noted the lack of unity among Democrats during the speech. Several Democrats refused to stand or applaud, even during moments that were seemingly nonpartisan, such as when a 13-year-old cancer survivor named DJ Daniel was recognized. GOP Sen. Bernie Moreno criticized Democrats for their lack of support for DJ, calling their behavior “appalling.”

The speech was met with criticism from Democrats, with some members of Congress jeering Trump throughout the night and walking out before it concluded. Rep. LaMonica McIver expressed disappointment in Trump’s remarks, stating, “His words do nothing to help the people in my district – there’s real work to be done.”

Overall, Trump’s address to Congress sparked a range of reactions from conservatives on social media, with many praising his performance and highlighting the partisan divide in response to the speech. The event showcased the ongoing political tensions in Washington, as both sides continue to navigate the challenges of governing in a divided nation.
