Cowboys’ Dak Prescott reacts to team parting ways with Mike McCarthy

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott expressed his disappointment over head coach Mike McCarthy’s departure. In an interview with ALL DLLS, Prescott shared his feelings, saying, “Bummed, because we built some things. But I guess they couldn’t reach an agreement. SMH.”

McCarthy had a successful tenure with the Cowboys, boasting an 84-49 record over five seasons, including three consecutive 12-5 seasons. Despite their regular season success, McCarthy only managed to secure one playoff win during his time with the team.

The Cowboys faced a challenging season last year, finishing with a 7-10 record as key players, including Prescott, battled injuries. Prescott, who only played in eight games due to a season-ending hamstring surgery, had expressed his belief in McCarthy’s coaching abilities.

“I believe in him wholeheartedly. I don’t want to necessarily get into the nuts and the screws of it all obviously, but I think he definitely deserves a chance – another contract and a chance to coach this team among more influence. ‘On his terms’ may be a good way to say it,” Prescott stated.

However, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced that the team would not bring McCarthy back for another season. Jones praised McCarthy’s work but mentioned that after a joint review, both parties agreed to part ways.

With McCarthy’s departure, the Cowboys will be searching for a new head coach, marking the third coaching change for Prescott in his career. As the team prepares for the upcoming season, Prescott remains optimistic about the future despite the changes in leadership.

As the Cowboys navigate this transition period, Prescott’s loyalty and support for the team remain unwavering. Stay tuned for updates on the Cowboys’ coaching search and the team’s preparations for the upcoming season.
