Crowd boos Jake Paul after beating Chávez Jr.; tells them to ‘shut the f–k up’

Jake Paul made headlines once again by telling a booing crowd to “shut the f–k up” after defeating former middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr. by unanimous decision on Saturday night in Anaheim, California. The YouTube star turned boxer didn’t hold back in his post-match interview, taunting the crowd and boasting about his victory.

Facing his most accomplished opponent yet in Chávez, Paul seemed to take a significant risk stepping into the ring at Honda Center. However, Chávez failed to mount a significant attack until late in the fight, allowing Paul to control the ring and secure the win.

Despite Chávez’s late efforts, Paul’s dominance was clear as the judges scored the fight 99-91, 98-92, and 97-93 in his favor. Even the Associated Press favored Paul with a score of 97-93. After the fight, Chávez acknowledged Paul’s strength but questioned his readiness for champions in the boxing world.

Chávez, who has only fought once since 2021, is known for not fully capitalizing on his father’s boxing legacy. However, he remains the most credible opponent Paul has faced in his career, which is now 5 1/2 years and 13 fights in.

This victory adds to Paul’s impressive boxing career, which has seen him take on and defeat a range of opponents. His confidence and bravado continue to make him a polarizing figure in the boxing world, as he looks to further solidify his place in the sport.

As Paul’s star continues to rise, it will be interesting to see who he faces next and how he continues to challenge himself in the ring. Stay tuned for more updates on Jake Paul’s boxing journey.
