DHS must probe Cuban regime allies infiltrating the US refugee system: lawmaker

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, a congressman who fled Cuba in the 1960s, is taking action to address individuals allegedly tied to the communist regime who are circumventing U.S. Cuban refugee laws. In an exclusive report, it has been revealed that Gimenez will be sending a list of these individuals to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Representing the congressional district closest to Cuba, which includes Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, Gimenez will be highlighting the presence of individuals with direct ties to the murderous Castro regime and the Communist Party of Cuba currently residing in the United States. He believes it is imperative for the Department of Homeland Security to enforce existing U.S. laws to identify, deport, and repatriate these individuals who pose a direct threat to national security.

Gimenez, who is the only Cuban-born member of Congress, emphasized that laws such as the Cuban Adjustment Act were designed to help those fleeing communism, not those assisting in it. He expressed concern over individuals with ties to the Communist Party of Cuba and the repressive state security apparatus who have manipulated the U.S. immigration system.

In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, Gimenez provided a list of about 100 individuals denounced by nonprofit organizations and human rights watchdog groups. These individuals are believed to be affiliated with various groups and entities associated with the Cuban regime, including the Rapid Response Brigade and the Cuban Union of Young Communists.

Gimenez called for thorough vetting of the list and deportation proceedings for those found to have malign credentials. He stressed the importance of working with DHS to identify, vet, detain, and deport these individuals living in the United States under false pretenses.

Recent actions by the Trump administration, such as the arrest of a Cuban spy in Florida for fraudulently obtaining a green card, have highlighted the need for increased scrutiny of individuals linked to the Cuban regime. Gimenez commended President Trump for taking swift action and expressed hope for further measures to address the issue.

Fox News Digital reached out to DHS for comment on its stance toward the Castro/Diaz-Canel regime and efforts to democratize Cuba. The congressman’s efforts to address individuals tied to the communist regime demonstrate a commitment to upholding U.S. laws and protecting national security interests.
