Diddy’s lawyers claim government overreach in jail cell paperwork seizure

New York – Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Lawyers Accuse Prosecutors of Misconduct

Lawyers representing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs have made serious allegations against prosecutors, claiming they engaged in “outrageous government conduct” by using materials seized from his jail cell in an attempt to keep him incarcerated before his upcoming trial in May.

The information gathered during a raid on Combs\’ cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn was cited in court documents filed by the government on Friday, seeking to keep the music mogul behind bars until his trial on May 5, 2025.

Combs, 55, has been in custody since his arrest in September on charges of coercing and abusing women and minors with the help of a network of associates and employees. The indictment alleges that he used tactics such as blackmail and violence, including kidnapping, arson, and physical assault, to silence his victims.

Despite the serious nature of the charges, Combs has maintained his innocence and is currently seeking release to house arrest through a $50 million bail package.

Prosecutors claimed in court filings last week that Combs has been attempting to manipulate his jailhouse communications to avoid scrutiny, while also orchestrating social media campaigns to influence potential jurors and leak materials beneficial to his defense. They also accused him of contacting witnesses through intermediaries.

In response, Combs’ legal team raised concerns about the search of his cell, where personal items and paperwork were seized, including potentially privileged notes to his lawyers. They labeled the government’s actions as “outrageous government conduct amounting to a substantive due process violation.”

The lawyers called for an immediate hearing to address the issue and demanded an explanation from prosecutors regarding who authorized the search of Combs’ cell.

A spokesperson for the prosecutors declined to comment on the matter.
