DNC chair calls Trump ‘dictator-in-chief’ at fiery Minneapolis meeting

The Democratic National Committee is gearing up for a fight against President Donald Trump and the Republicans, with DNC Chair Ken Martin leading the charge. In a passionate speech at the party’s summer meeting in Minneapolis, Martin called out Trump as a “dictator-in-chief” and slammed his administration as “fascism dressed in a red tie.”
With Democrats facing challenges on multiple fronts, including plummeting poll numbers and fundraising deficits, Martin emphasized the need for the party to come together and take a stand against the current administration. He urged party members to be more aggressive in their approach, stating that they can no longer afford to play by the rules in a political landscape dominated by right-leaning forces.
Despite the party’s struggles, there is a sense of optimism among Democrats as they look towards next year’s midterm elections. Recent victories in off-year and special elections, along with the recruitment of top candidates like former Gov. Roy Cooper and former Sen. Sherrod Brown, have given the party a much-needed boost.
While the road ahead may be challenging, Democrats are determined to push forward and reclaim their standing in American politics. As Martin aptly put it, “Every inch of ground that we gain matters. Every single inch.”
