DOGE Caucus nabs over 100 House lawmakers despite Dem attacks on Musk

The bipartisan Congressional DOGE Caucus, comprised of over 100 lawmakers, is making strides in the mission to cut government waste. Led by Elon Musk, the caucus has garnered support from both Republicans and Democrats, despite facing criticism from some who question Musk’s lack of prior government experience.
The group, founded after President Donald Trump appointed Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead an advisory panel on government efficiency, is now solely led by Musk. With more than one in five House lawmakers on board, the DOGE Caucus is actively working on legislative items aimed at reducing government spending and advancing Trump’s agenda.
Key conservative members of the caucus, including Reps. Aaron Bean, Pete Sessions, and Blake Moore, have held two meetings to discuss strategies for trimming waste. During the second session, lawmakers selected working groups focused on specific areas such as retirement, safety nets, defense, and finance. These groups are now in full swing, actively seeking out areas where government waste can be eliminated.
Outside of Washington, the DOGE Caucus has also garnered significant interest, with over 40,000 individuals reaching out to the caucus’s email tip line. Some of these ideas for cutting waste, fraud, and abuse have been shared with Musk’s team. Additionally, Rep. Bean has challenged lawmakers to introduce bills aimed at reducing government waste, further driving the caucus’s mission forward.
The caucus’s efforts have sparked a spirited debate over the role of government in the modern era. While some question Musk’s influence as an unelected bureaucrat, others see the caucus as a necessary step towards streamlining government operations. With support from both sides of the aisle, the DOGE Caucus continues to push for greater efficiency and accountability in government spending.
