‘DOGE’ meets Congress: GOP lawmaker launches caucus to help Musk ‘take on Crazytown’
Rep. Aaron Bean, a Republican lawmaker from Florida, has taken a bold step by launching a new congressional caucus that aims to collaborate closely with President-elect Trump’s upcoming Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In a letter sent to his fellow lawmakers, Bean expressed the need for partners in Congress to work alongside Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have been tasked with leading the DOGE initiative.
Bean emphasized the challenging task of taking on what he referred to as “Crazytown,” highlighting the necessity for cutting back on government spending and reining in the power of unelected bureaucrats. With the Biden-Harris administration borrowing $6 billion per day, Bean pointed out that the interest accrued on the debt now exceeds the entire Defense Department budget.
The newly formed DOGE Caucus, spearheaded by Rep. Bean, aims to bring together members of the Republican Party who are committed to fiscal responsibility and reducing government over-regulation. Bean stressed the importance of unity among Republicans in order to achieve their goals and make America great again.
President Trump has expressed his support for the DOGE initiative, likening it to the Manhattan Project of our time. Musk and Ramaswamy have already begun identifying areas of government waste that they plan to address through the DOGE department. Musk, in particular, has been vocal about the need to tackle issues such as fraud losses and unnecessary research studies.
In response to Bean’s call for participation in the DOGE Caucus, lawmakers are still considering joining the initiative. Musk, on the other hand, continues to highlight examples of government inefficiency and waste, underscoring the need for the DOGE department to intervene.
Trump envisions that the collaborative efforts of Musk and Ramaswamy will pave the way for a more accountable and efficient government, ultimately benefiting future generations. The goal is for the DOGE department to make significant progress by America’s 250th birthday in 2026.
As discussions around the DOGE initiative continue, it is clear that the efforts of Rep. Bean and his fellow lawmakers are crucial in supporting the mission of streamlining government operations and promoting accountability. With a focus on fiscal responsibility and regulatory reform, the DOGE Caucus is poised to play a key role in reshaping the future of American governance.
