Dolphins snap 3-game losing streak with much-needed win over Rams
The Miami Dolphins put an end to their three-game losing streak with a 23-15 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on “Monday Night Football.” The Dolphins, who entered the game with a 2-6 record and sitting at the bottom of the AFC East, were desperate for a win on the road at SoFi Stadium.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins’ offense executed a flawless opening drive, marching 70 yards down the field for a touchdown. Malik Washington capped off the drive with an 18-yard run, aided by a clever trick play that caught the Rams’ defense off guard.
On the other side of the ball, the Rams’ offense, led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, struggled to find its rhythm against the stout Dolphins’ defense. The Rams managed only five field goals throughout the game and were unable to reach the end zone.
Despite a slow start after their opening touchdown, the Dolphins found the end zone again with a one-yard touchdown catch by Tyreek Hill. Hill’s touchdown, his first since Week 1, helped secure the victory for Miami.
Jason Sanders added a field goal late in the game to seal the win for the Dolphins, as the Rams’ onside kick attempt in the final minutes was unsuccessful.
In terms of passing stats, Tagovailoa finished with 207 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, while Stafford threw for 293 yards. Puka Nacua led the Dolphins in receiving with 98 yards, while Cooper Kupp had 80 yards for the Rams.
Jaylen Waddle led the Dolphins in receiving yards with 57, followed by tight end Jonnu Smith with 45 yards.
The victory was a much-needed boost for the Dolphins as they look to climb out of the bottom of the AFC East standings. With this win, the Dolphins have shown that they are capable of competing with top teams in the league.
