Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill floats latest theory about arrest near NFL stadium amid battle with wrist injury

Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill made a courageous decision to play in Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams despite dealing with a torn ligament in his wrist. The eight-time Pro Bowler, who had been a game-time decision leading up to the matchup, revealed that he had been battling wrist issues since training camp, but the events surrounding his recent detainment by police near the Dolphins’ home stadium in September exacerbated the injury.

Hill disclosed to ESPN that he had undergone an MRI which confirmed the torn ligament in his wrist but chose to keep quiet about the injury until this week. Despite the challenges he faced, Hill expressed determination to not let the injury hinder his performance on the field, stating, “that arrest messed me up, [but I’m not going to] let it stop me.”

The incident in September involved Miami Police performing a traffic stop on Hill just hours before the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bodycam footage captured the confrontation as officers pulled Hill over for speeding, leading to a heated exchange between the player and law enforcement. The situation escalated, resulting in Hill being forcefully removed from his vehicle and detained.

Despite the off-field distractions and the physical pain he was enduring, Hill suited up for Monday night’s game and contributed to the Dolphins’ victory. The wide receiver has not been able to replicate his stellar statistics from previous seasons, partly due to the quarterback issues the team has faced this year with Tua Tagovailoa missing time due to injury.

Hill has consistently surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past four seasons, showcasing his elite talent and playmaking ability. As the Dolphins continue to fight for a playoff spot in the competitive AFC, Hill’s resilience and determination serve as a driving force for the team.

Looking ahead, the Dolphins will host the Las Vegas Raiders on November 17, with Hill expected to play a key role in their pursuit of postseason success. Despite the challenges he has faced both on and off the field, Tyreek Hill remains focused on making an impact and helping his team achieve their goals.
