Donald Trump Jr. Explores Greenland Amid Speculation of U.S. Acquisition

Donald Trump Jr. made a high-profile visit to Greenland on Tuesday, coinciding with remarks made by his father, President-elect Trump, that hinted at the possibility of the U.S. seeking to acquire the Danish territory.

Upon his arrival in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, Trump Jr. engaged with locals, toured cultural sites, and filmed content for a podcast. A video shared by the president-elect showed a plane emblazoned with the word “TRUMP” touching down in Nuuk.

President Trump took to social media to express his support for the visit, stating, “Don Jr. and my Reps landing in Greenland. The reception has been great. They, and the Free World, need safety, security, strength, and PEACE! This is a deal that must happen. MAGA. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!”

During the visit, Trump also engaged in conversations with locals over speakerphone, further fueling speculation about the potential acquisition of Greenland by the U.S.

A source familiar with the visit clarified that Trump Jr. was in Greenland for a day-long trip to create content for podcasting and had no scheduled meetings with government officials or political figures.

The visit comes at a time when President-elect Trump has expressed interest in acquiring the mineral-rich and strategically important territory of Greenland.

At a press conference held at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, the president-elect reiterated his stance on Greenland, stating that “Denmark should give it up” and emphasizing the need for the territory for national security reasons.

America’s interest in Greenland dates back to the 1800s, but Greenland’s Prime Minister, Mute Egede, made it clear that the country is not for sale. “Greenland is ours,” he stated emphatically, reaffirming Greenland’s commitment to sovereignty.
