El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele says “The U.S. is facing a judicial coup”
President Donald Trump recently called for the impeachment of Judge James E. Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, referring to him as a \”Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge.\” The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, weighed in on the situation, asserting that the U.S. is facing a judicial coup.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, agreed with Bukele’s statement, sharing the tweet and adding his own comment of \”1000%.\” This controversy stems from a legal battle over the deportation of Venezuelan citizens who are members of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized Judge Boasberg and called for his impeachment, accusing him of being a troublemaker and agitator. The judge had sought to temporarily block the removal of Venezuelan citizens who are not naturalized or lawful permanent residents of the U.S.
Despite the judge’s order, flights carrying individuals targeted for deportation had reportedly already departed prior to the ruling. The Trump administration successfully deported 137 individuals under the Alien Enemies Act, including members of Tren de Aragua and MS-13.
Bukele announced that the first members of the Venezuelan criminal organization had arrived in El Salvador, along with MS-13 members wanted by Salvadoran justice. The U.S. reportedly paid El Salvador to accept these individuals, prompting criticism from Trump and his supporters.
