Ian Sams, a former Biden administration aide, is set to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Thursday morning as part of ongoing investigations into allegations of a “cover-up” in the previous White House.
Sams, a seasoned Democrat communications operative, previously served as a senior spokesman for Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign and as a senior advisor and spokesman for the White House Counsel’s Office under President Joe Biden.
During his time in the White House, Sams was responsible for responding to congressional probes primarily initiated by Republicans, defending the administration against negative stories and allegations.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., has raised concerns about the possibility of a cover-up in the Biden White House, particularly regarding the former president’s alleged mental decline.
Comer’s committee is looking into whether top White House aides concealed signs of Biden’s mental state from the public and whether decisions, including clemency orders, were made without Biden’s full awareness.

Sams is the eleventh former Biden administration aide to appear before the committee, with eight coming in for voluntary interviews. Three others were compelled to testify via subpoena.
These closed-door interviews, led by lawyers from both parties, are part of the committee’s efforts to uncover the truth behind allegations of a cover-up in the Biden White House.
