Eli Manning’s ex-Giants teammate upset over QB’s Hall of Fame snub

Former New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is speaking out about his disappointment that his former teammate, Eli Manning, did not make the Pro Football Hall of Fame last week. Amukamara, who played alongside Manning for five seasons from 2011-2015, expressed his frustration to TMZ Sports, saying, “Snubbed dude, come on man! And it’s crazy because before he retired, that’s always been the argument right: is he a first ballot Hall of Famer?”
Amukamara highlighted Manning’s impressive accomplishments, including being a two-time Super Bowl MVP, beating some of the greatest quarterbacks in the game, and never missing a down, play, or game throughout his career. Manning’s durability was particularly noteworthy, as he started 210 consecutive games before being benched, not due to injury.
Despite Manning’s impressive resume, his Hall of Fame candidacy has been a topic of debate among fans. While he is a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl MVP, Manning also holds the 12th most interceptions in NFL history and finished his career with a .500 record. However, Amukamara firmly believes that Manning deserves a spot in Canton and is confident that he will eventually be enshrined.
While acknowledging the deserving players who were elected to the Hall of Fame this year, including Jared Allen, Antonio Gates, Sterling Sharpe, and Eric Allen, Amukamara also expressed his disappointment that former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly was not selected. Kuechly, who had a stellar eight-year career, was a seven-time Pro Bowler, five-time All-Pro, and won Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.
Amukamara, who had a respectable nine-year career with the Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chicago Bears, joked that he didn’t want to say anything that would get him snubbed from the Hall of Fame himself. Despite not making the cut, he remains supportive of Manning and Kuechly’s potential induction in the future.
As the debate over Manning’s Hall of Fame status continues, Amukamara’s unwavering support for his former teammate serves as a testament to the impact Manning had on the game and his teammates during his illustrious career.
