Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy agree on ‘need to scrutinize’ US funding for NGOs

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have been appointed by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where they are planning to focus on examining funding for non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Ramaswamy emphasized the need to scrutinize U.S. government funding of NGOs, stating that it is a waste of taxpayer dollars and lacks transparency, especially in relation to foreign aid and nonprofit groups involved in the border crisis.

Musk expressed his agreement with Ramaswamy’s views and also supported his brother Kimbal Musk’s assertion that NGOs serve as mouthpieces for governments and should be eliminated. Kimbal Musk tweeted that NGOs promote government agendas and censorship without proper checks and balances, to which Elon Musk responded affirmatively.

In a recent Wall Street Journal article, Musk and Ramaswamy reiterated that they will be serving as outside volunteers for DOGE, rather than federal officials or employees. Trump has outlined that DOGE will work in partnership with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive significant structural reform and introduce an entrepreneurial approach to government operations.

Musk has highlighted the need for less government intervention, emphasizing that reduced government involvement leads to more power for the people. The duo’s commitment to reforming government processes and increasing transparency in funding allocations is a key focus of their upcoming role within the Department of Government Efficiency.

As they embark on this new endeavor, Musk and Ramaswamy are set to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the table, aiming to enhance government efficiency and accountability. Stay tuned for more updates on their progress and the impact of their initiatives on the U.S. government.
