Elon Musk slated to speak at Trump pre-inauguration rally: report

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is set to speak at President-elect Donald Trump’s pre-inauguration rally on Sunday, as reported by NBC News. Musk, who is expected to lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) once Trump assumes office, will address the audience during Trump’s “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C.
In addition to Musk, other speakers scheduled for the event include Vice President-elect JD Vance, conservative media figure Megyn Kelly, and members of Trump’s immediate family. The Trump transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Musk, who made significant contributions to Trump’s presidential campaign, has developed a close relationship with the incoming president and has spoken at various official events with him. For instance, Musk delivered a speech at a Trump campaign rally in October at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Furthermore, Musk is expected to have a substantial influence on the incoming administration and is collaborating with tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to drive efforts to reduce government spending under DOGE. DOGE, despite not being a federal government agency, aims to slash government spending, waste, and enhance efficiency and operations. The department is striving to cut $2 trillion from the federal government budget by reducing spending, government programs, and the federal workforce.
However, Musk recently mentioned that eliminating $2 trillion from the federal budget may be overly ambitious, proposing that a more realistic goal would be to cut $1 trillion. He expressed this view during the tech trade show CES in Las Vegas earlier this month.
