Elon Musk spars with White House advisor Peter Navarro: ‘Dumber than a sack of bricks’

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk found himself in a social media squabble with White House Senior Counselor Peter Navarro on Tuesday. This all started after Navarro made a statement in an interview on Monday, referring to Tesla as a car “assembler” rather than a manufacturer.

In response, Musk took to X to defend Tesla, stating, “Tesla has the most American-made cars. Navarro is dumber than a sack of bricks.” Musk didn’t stop there, calling Navarro a “moron” in a separate post and refuting Navarro’s claims as “demonstrably false.”

Both Navarro and Musk are close advisors to former President Trump. Navarro previously held positions in Trump’s first administration, including director of the White House National Trade Council and director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy.

Currently, Musk is leading the Department of Government Efficiency initiative under the Trump administration as a “special government employee.” This initiative aims to reduce government waste and spending. According to regulations, the executive or legislative branches can hire temporary employees for short-term projects for up to 130 days within a 365-day period. Musk’s term is set to expire at the end of May.

This ongoing story will be updated as more information becomes available.
