Experienced Oregon hiker found dead in Mount Hood National Forest after search

An experienced hiker who went missing on Wednesday was tragically found dead in Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon on Friday, according to officials. The hiker, who was last heard from at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, had only planned for a day hike and did not have overnight gear with them.

The 33-year-old hiker’s family reported them missing at 7:30 that evening, prompting a search operation by Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Search teams quickly located the hiker’s tracks in the snow near the Paradise Park Trail, southeast of Portland.
