Express access: Canada issues thousands of invitations in the second largest health care of the year
Canada’s Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Department (IRCC) have recently announced a new round of Invitations to Apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system.
In this draw, 2500 ITAs were issued to candidates in the Healthcare and Social Services category of Express Entry.
For candidates to be eligible for this draw, they needed to meet the following criteria:
- A Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 470; And
- A candidate profile submitted before 8:08 pm, Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on April 23, 2025.

Today’s draw marks the fifth of the month and the second of the week. Since May, IRCC has been holding a monthly draw specifically for candidates in the Healthcare and Social Services category, indicating a shift towards prioritizing these candidates.
Today’s draw follows recent draws for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on August 18, French Language Proficiency on August 8, and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on August 7.
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued a total of 55,820 ITAs through the Express Entry system.
The draws this year have predominantly focused on PNP streams, with the remaining draws allocated to CEC candidates, French-speaking candidates, and those in specific Express Entry categories:
