Family of four killed in plane crash returning from beach vacation

A tragic plane crash in Sanford, North Carolina, claimed the lives of a beloved family of four as they were returning home from a beach vacation. The Buchanan family, consisting of parents Travis and Candace, along with their children Aubrey and Walker, perished in the crash.

The Cirrus SR22 aircraft went down in a wooded area in Lee County around 1:45 p.m. on Monday, July 7, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that all four individuals onboard the plane lost their lives in the crash, with three victims pronounced dead at the scene and the fourth passing away at a local hospital.

The Buchanan family was well-known in the community, as they owned Buchanan Farms. Travis and Candace, along with their children, were active members of the local business scene and were described as more than just customers by a local restaurant, Los Charros Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant paid tribute to the family on Facebook, expressing their condolences and highlighting the special relationship they shared with the Buchanans.

Abraham Garcia, who had worked for Travis Buchanan at Buchanan Farms for over eight years, revealed that the family was on their way back from the beach when the tragic incident occurred. The Buchanans had a close connection with the community, as evidenced by their involvement in various events and activities.
