Family of missing pregnant woman reveals suspicions about disappearance
An Indiana woman who was nine months pregnant when she disappeared over three months ago has left her family with suspicions about her last whereabouts. Emma Baum, a 25-year-old mother of three, went missing on Oct. 10 in Gary, Indiana, just days before she was due to give birth to her fourth child.
According to Baum’s sister, Hailey Baum-Waddell, Emma was last seen being dropped off at her boyfriend’s house. The family grew concerned when they realized they hadn’t heard from her and reported her missing to the authorities on Oct. 28. Gary Police Cmdr. Jack Hamady confirmed that a missing persons report had been filed for Baum.
Since Baum’s disappearance, the Gary Police Department has conducted several searches in the area with the help of K-9 units, while the Lake County Sheriff’s Department has also assisted in some of the searches. Baum-Waddell and other relatives have organized a widespread search effort, drawing in hundreds of volunteers through social media.
Baum-Waddell described her sister as a devoted mother and expressed her disbelief that Emma would willingly stay away from her children for such a long period of time. She also mentioned that Emma did not have a working phone at the time of her disappearance, which made it difficult to track her whereabouts.
The family suspects that Emma’s boyfriend may be withholding information about her disappearance. Baum-Waddell believes that he is “hiding something,” while Baum’s mother reportedly believes he may have played a role in her disappearance. However, no charges have been filed in connection with Emma Baum’s case, and she remains missing.
Emma Baum is described as approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing around 136 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, several scars, and tattoos. She often wears colorful wigs and is known for her big brown eyes and caring nature.
The family is urging anyone with information about Emma Baum’s disappearance to contact the Gary Police Department at (219) 881-1209. They remain hopeful that Emma will be found safe and reunited with her loved ones.
