FBI Director Kash Patel vows to restore trust in bureau, hunt down bad actors ‘in every corner of this planet’

FBI Director Kash Patel has vowed to rebuild trust in the agency by creating a transparent and accountable organization that is committed to justice. Patel, who was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the ninth-ever FBI director, succeeded Christopher Wray.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Patel expressed his gratitude to President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi for their unwavering support. He emphasized the importance of restoring public trust in the FBI, which he believes has been eroded by the politicization of the justice system.

Patel’s extensive background in national security and intelligence has prepared him well for the role of FBI director. He has experience in carrying out dangerous missions in the Middle East to bring home U.S. hostages, implementing counterterrorism strategies against America’s most-wanted terrorists, and countering efforts by foreign adversaries such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

During his time in the first Trump administration, Patel served as a deputy assistant to the president and senior director for counterterrorism. He was involved in missions aimed at decimating al Qaeda and ISIS leadership, planning the mission to take out Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, and bringing U.S. hostages home. He also played a key role in implementing sanctions against foreign adversaries.

Prior to his role in the Trump administration, Patel worked in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) as the principal deputy to the acting DNI Ric Grenell. He focused on intelligence collection against counter-narcotic and transnational threats.

As the national security advisor and senior counsel for counterterrorism to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Patel led the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He uncovered government surveillance abuses that led to the appointment of Special Counsels Robert Mueller and John Durham.

Patel’s work in exposing FISA abuse and the unlawful actions of the FBI and DOJ in surveilling Americans, including members of the 2016 Trump campaign, has been instrumental in uncovering the truth behind the Trump-Russia collusion investigation.

As FBI director, Patel has pledged to prioritize the mission of protecting Americans and upholding justice. He has issued a warning to those who seek to harm Americans, promising to hunt them down in every corner of the planet. With Patel at the helm, the FBI is poised to rebuild trust and restore its reputation as an agency committed to serving the American people.
