FBI launches task force to crack down on violent Tesla attacks, mitigate threats

The FBI has taken decisive action to address the recent surge in violent attacks targeting Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations across the country. A specialized task force, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), has been mobilized to coordinate investigative efforts and crackdown on these acts of vandalism, arson, and targeted shootings.

According to sources familiar with the situation, there is no apparent connection between the individuals involved in these incidents and any organized online groups. Since March 1, 2025, the FBI has received 48 reports related to Tesla violence, criminal activity, and threatening communications. These incidents are being investigated in partnership with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, with seven pending full arson investigations.

Three arrests have already been made in connection with Molotov cocktails being used in attacks in Salem, Oregon, and Loveland, Colorado. FBI Director Kash Patel has reiterated the agency’s commitment to protecting the American people and ensuring that acts of violence and domestic terrorism, such as the recent Tesla attacks, are pursued with the full force of the law.

To streamline reporting and response efforts, a threat tag has been created at the FBI, and a command post has been established at FBI headquarters. Additionally, a joint FBI/ATF task force has been deployed to address the ongoing threat posed by these attacks.

Protestors affiliated with the Tesla Takedown movement are planning 500 demonstrations at all 277 Tesla showrooms and Supercharger stations on March 29, 2025. Attorney General Pam Bondi has condemned these attacks as domestic terrorism, and the Justice Department recently announced charges against three suspects in the Tesla arson cases.

In light of these developments, it is essential for Tesla owners to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities. The FBI’s task force is dedicated to identifying and apprehending those responsible for these criminal acts, and their efforts will be crucial in safeguarding the integrity and security of Tesla vehicles and infrastructure.
