Home sales
Final home sales for some of Canada’s largest cities are expected this week. Vancouver and Calgary are expected to report June sales on Tuesday, while Toronto is expected to report results on Thursday.
Trade numbers
Statistics Canada will publish its May international trade figures on Thursday. Canada’s merchandise surplus rose to $1.9 billion in April, helped by higher exports of gold, oil, and cars and light trucks.
Richelieu results
Richelieu Hardware Ltd. will announce its second-quarter results Thursday and hold a conference call with investors and financial analysts. The specialty hardware importer, manufacturer and distributor will also discuss its outlook for the rest of the year.
Job numbers
Statistics Canada will release its latest snapshot of the country’s job market when it releases its June Labor Force Survey on Friday. The main economic report comes ahead of the Bank of Canada’s next interest rate decision on July 12.
