Bethlenfalvy’s Address on the Changing U.S.-Canada Relationship
The finance minister took to the stage at Queen’s Park to deliver his annual budget speech, and it was nothing short of captivating.
Bethlenfalvy shared personal anecdotes of his time living in the United States, where he raised his children. He highlighted the unwavering support Canada provided to New York in the aftermath of 9/11. Drawing inspiration from John F. Kennedy, he quoted, “We choose to go to the moon in this decade,” before transitioning into a comprehensive overview of the government’s proactive measures to shield the economy from the impact of the U.S.
“The safeguarding of Ontario’s economy is already in motion,” he affirmed.
Furthermore, Bethlenfalvy reiterated the resounding message that echoed throughout the campaign trail: “Canada is not for sale.”
