Former Teacher at Exclusive Private School in Nova Scotia Facing Allegations of Sex Offences

A former teacher at an exclusive private school in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley is facing serious allegations of sex offences against a youth that occurred more than two decades ago. Roderick Alexander MacDonald, 48, has been charged with sexual exploitation, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual assault.

MacDonald was a teacher at King’s-Edgehill School in Windsor, N.S., when the alleged offences took place. The incidents are said to have occurred both on and off the school campus between 2000 and 2002. It is important to note that MacDonald is currently residing in British Columbia.

The Nova Scotia RCMP were first contacted about these allegations in November of last year. Following an investigation, MacDonald was served a summons in British Columbia in January of this year to attend court in Nova Scotia. He is scheduled to appear in Nova Scotia provincial court in Windsor next month to address the charges brought against him.

According to the RCMP, at this time, there is no information to suggest that there are additional victims involved in this case. However, the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to come forward.

In light of these disturbing allegations, it is crucial for individuals to know where to turn for support and assistance. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or fears for their safety, please do not hesitate to call 911. Additionally, for support in your area, you can seek out crisis lines and local services through the Ending Violence Association of Canada database.
