Former Navy SEAL mounts U.S. Senate bid in Alabama

Former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson has thrown his hat into the ring for the upcoming U.S. Senate race in Alabama, following the announcement of Senator Tommy Tuberville’s gubernatorial bid. With Tuberville stepping away from the Senate seat he has held since early 2021, the field is wide open for new contenders in the 2026 election.

In a bold declaration on social media platform X, Hudson emphasized his outsider status, contrasting himself with career politicians. “President Trump needs fighters, not career politicians. I’m a former Navy SEAL, not a swamp insider — and I’m running for U.S. Senate in Alabama to help secure the border, crush the woke agenda, and defend our Christian values,” Hudson proclaimed.

Hudson’s announcement garnered support from House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Eli Crane, who served alongside Hudson at Team 3. Crane praised Hudson as a man of integrity and faith, highlighting his dedication to his family and his country.

Responding to Crane’s endorsement, Hudson expressed his admiration for the congressman, calling him a “friend & God-fearing patriot” and stressing the need for more dedicated public servants like Crane in Congress. Hudson pledged to stand with Crane and President Trump in their mission to “Make America Great Again.”

Beyond his military service, Hudson and his wife have also made significant contributions through their nonprofit organization, Covenant Rescue Group. The organization focuses on combating human trafficking and child exploitation, areas where Hudson and his team saw a critical need for intervention and support.

As the race for the U.S. Senate in Alabama heats up, Hudson’s entry adds a new dimension to the field, bringing a unique blend of military experience, advocacy for conservative values, and a commitment to serving the people of Alabama. With Tuberville’s exit creating an open opportunity, Hudson’s candidacy promises to energize the political landscape and offer voters a fresh perspective on key issues facing the state and the nation.
