US Election 2024

Former SEAL whose nonprofit combats human trafficking seeks Senate seat

Former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate, aiming to secure the border, combat the “woke agenda,” and defend Christian values. Hudson, who co-founded Covenant Rescue Group with his wife to combat human trafficking, emphasized the importance of training law enforcement to apprehend individuals involved in trafficking children and adults for sex.

With Senator Tommy Tuberville’s decision to run for governor, the 2026 Senate race in Alabama is wide open. Hudson, in a post on social media platform X, stated his intention to run for Senate to address key issues such as border security and preserving traditional values.

When questioned about the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Hudson expressed support for the measure to prevent tax rate hikes resulting from the expiration of the “Trump tax cuts.” He also shared his views on U.S. aid to Ukraine and Israel, advocating for increased national security while avoiding unnecessary conflicts.

Regarding NATO, Hudson emphasized the need for fair burden-sharing among member nations, suggesting that the U.S. should not bear the entire responsibility. He also highlighted the importance of reducing government intervention in people’s lives and shrinking the size of government agencies.

House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Eli Crane praised Hudson, noting his military service and dedication to his faith and family. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has also entered the Senate race, setting the stage for a competitive election in 2026.

As the state prepares for both gubernatorial and Senate contests, Hudson’s candidacy brings a unique perspective as a former Navy SEAL dedicated to combating human trafficking and upholding conservative values. Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming election.
