A new and dangerous gang is emerging from Venezuela, known as the Anti-Tren gang, which experts believe has the potential to be even more violent than the notorious Tren de Aragua. This gang is comprised mostly of former members of Tren de Aragua and is causing havoc in various parts of the United States.
In a recent federal indictment, 21 men were accused of running drug and prostitution rings in New York City under the banner of Anti-Tren. The gang is said to protect its power and territory through acts of violence, including targeting members of Tren de Aragua.
The Anti-Tren gang is also involved in illegal smuggling activities, such as trafficking young Venezuelan women, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, and armed robberies. According to Robert Charles, an expert in international narcotics and law enforcement affairs, Anti-Tren is showing signs of becoming even more violent than its predecessor.
Charles explains that gangs like Anti-Tren use violence and intimidation to dominate geographic areas and maximize their gains. They often target rural America where law enforcement presence is minimal, allowing them to operate with little risk.
The Anti-Tren gang has already expanded beyond New York City, with incidents reported in Texas where a woman was robbed at gunpoint, pistol-whipped, and tied up in her home. The perpetrators, believed to be part of the Anti-Tren gang, threatened the woman with violence and stole valuable items from her residence.
It is crucial for authorities to act swiftly to dismantle this dangerous gang before it grows in numbers and influence. By staying vigilant and deterring criminal activities, law enforcement can prevent the Anti-Tren gang from causing further harm to communities across the country.
