Golf legend John Daly announces he underwent emergency hand surgery

Golfer John Daly recently underwent emergency surgery on his hand, as he revealed in a post on his Instagram account this week. The surgery was successful, and Daly expressed his gratitude to Dr. McClimans for taking care of him and ensuring a smooth recovery process.
In a separate post, Daly thanked Dr. McClimans again for helping him get back on his feet and expressed his eagerness to return to playing golf soon. The post showed Daly lying in a hospital bed in Tampa, Florida, where he underwent the procedure.
Daly, 58, is a well-known figure in the world of golf, admired for his unique style and relaxed attitude on the course. He is often seen sporting colorful outfits and is famous for always having a cigarette in hand during his rounds. In a past interview, Daly admitted his dislike for water and revealed that he used to consume a large number of Diet Cokes daily as a substitute.
Having attended the University of Arkansas on a golf scholarship, Daly made a name for himself in the sport by qualifying for the 1986 U.S. Open as an amateur. He turned professional in 1987 and joined the PGA Tour in 1991, where he went on to secure five victories, including two major championship wins – the PGA Championship in 1991 and the British Open in 1995.
Daly’s last PGA Tour victory was at the Buick Invitational in 2004. He recently won the 2021 PNC “Father and Son” Championship alongside his son, John Daly II. Throughout his career, Daly has also claimed victories in various international events in countries such as South Africa, Swaziland, Scotland, Germany, South Korea, Turkey, and Canada.
