GOP reps launch judicial task force seeking to impeach ‘activist judges’

Republican Representatives Andrew Clyde of Georgia and Eli Crane of Arizona have joined forces to launch a new Judicial Activism Accountability Task Force aimed at exposing and targeting what they describe as “rogue, activist judges.” The task force comes in response to a surge of legal challenges to the Trump administration’s agenda, with Clyde and Crane leading the charge in drafting impeachment articles against judges overseeing Trump-related lawsuits.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Clyde expressed his excitement to lead the effort alongside Congressman Eli Crane, stating that the ultimate goal of the task force is to impeach judges who engage in judicial activism. Clyde made headlines in February when he announced his intention to draft impeachment articles against Rhode Island-based District Judge John McConnell for his handling of a lawsuit against President Trump.
Following Clyde’s lead, Crane and other representatives have also announced impeachment articles against judges presiding over Trump-related cases. Crane emphasized the importance of holding activist judges accountable, stating that if they want to act as politicians, they should resign and run for public office instead.
Tennessee Representative Andy Ogles has also joined the effort, introducing impeachment articles against U.S. District Judge Amir Ali, who recently ordered the Trump administration to pay around $2 billion in foreign aid funds to contractors with a midnight deadline. Chief Justice John Roberts intervened to pause Ali’s order after the administration raised concerns about the impact on federal finances.
The task force led by Clyde and Crane comes at a time when the administration is facing a barrage of legal challenges, with over 90 lawsuits targeting Trump’s executive orders and directives. These lawsuits cover a range of issues, including birthright citizenship, government spending cuts, and the removal of federal employees.
In a conversation with Fox News Digital, Clyde emphasized that the real victims of judicial pushback against Trump’s policies are the American people. He argued that by obstructing the president’s authority, these activist judges are denying the American people their rights and undermining the democratic process.
As the Judicial Activism Accountability Task Force gains momentum, Clyde, Crane, and their colleagues are determined to hold judges accountable for what they see as abuses of power. With a focus on upholding the separation of powers and defending the U.S. Constitution, the task force aims to deliver accountability for the American people and ensure that the rule of law is upheld.
