Grandpa killed inside McDonald’s in blue city while getting Happy Meals for grandkids

A tragic incident occurred at a McDonald’s restaurant in Houston, Texas, where 61-year-old Jorge Arbaiza lost his life in a senseless act of violence. Arbaiza, a loving grandfather who adored his grandchildren, was simply trying to buy Happy Meals for his two grandkids when he got caught in the crossfire of a gunfight between two groups of men.
Arbaiza’s wife, Teresa, who had been waiting in the car with the children, witnessed the horrifying event unfold. She saw a man with a gun in her rearview mirror and heard shots being fired inside the restaurant. Unable to leave the children alone in the car, Teresa could only watch in horror as the tragedy unfolded.
As Arbaiza lay dying, he made the sign of the cross and began to pray, showing his strength and resilience even in his final moments. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office later arrested Antonio Ridge and charged him with Arbaiza’s murder. Ridge is currently being held in the Harris County Jail.
The investigation revealed that a modified handgun, equipped with a “Glock switch” that turns the weapon into an automatic gun, was used in the shooting. In response to this tragedy, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez is supporting a bill in Texas that aims to criminalize the possession and use of modified handguns in the state. Gonzalez hopes that this bill will help prevent future tragedies like the one that took Arbaiza’s life.
The owner and operator of the Houston McDonald’s expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to Arbaiza’s family. The community has been shaken by this senseless act of violence, and efforts are being made to ensure that justice is served for Arbaiza and his loved ones.
In memory of Jorge Arbaiza, let us come together to support legislation that will make our communities safer and prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Arbaiza family as they mourn the loss of their beloved grandfather, husband, and father.
