Hamas hostage’s brother warns that those held in Gaza are running out of time

Evyatar David, a music lover with dreams of working in the music industry, is currently languishing in a Hamas tunnel according to his brother, Ilay David. In a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, Ilay expressed his concern that his brother and all the hostages are running out of time.

Ilay fondly remembers the times when he and Evyatar used to play music together every week. He described his brother as “the kindest soul I know.” The nightmare began on Oct. 7, 2023, when Evyatar was attending the Nova music festival with three friends. Tragically, two of his friends did not survive the attacks and both Evyatar and his best friend, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, were taken hostage by Hamas.

The David family, like many other hostage families, set up a website to raise awareness about Evyatar and the urgency of securing his release. They shared videos showcasing Evyatar’s guitar skills and lamented how his vibrant life was forever changed by the ordeal.

In February, the family received a sign of life from Evyatar and Guy in the form of a Hamas propaganda film. Ilay described the experience as both shocking and frightening. The video showed the two men looking frail and tired as they begged for their lives while being forced to watch a hostage release ceremony in Gaza.

While initially relieved to see them alive, Ilay’s heart sank upon realizing the toll captivity had taken on his brother and friend. The men appeared starved, exhausted, and broken in the video. Ilay expressed his concerns for their well-being, especially after hearing from former hostages about the harsh conditions they were subjected to in the tunnels.

Ilay fears for Evyatar and Guy’s safety as they continue to be held underground with limited access to food and water. The recent tragic deaths of six hostages only heightened his concerns about the possibility of a similar fate befalling his brother. Despite his best efforts to advocate for Evyatar’s release, Ilay believes that the intervention of President Donald Trump could make a significant difference in securing his brother’s freedom.

Ilay has taken his brother’s story to Washington, D.C., to meet with American lawmakers and raise awareness about the plight of the hostages held by Hamas. He credits President Trump for the release of 33 hostages during a ceasefire deal and believes that without his intervention, those individuals would still be in captivity. Ilay continues to fight for Evyatar and the remaining hostages, hoping that their ordeal will come to an end soon.
