Hamas says Trump’s rebuild Gaza plan is a ‘Recipe for creating chaos’
Fox News has reported that the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas has strongly criticized President Donald Trump’s proposal for the U.S. to rebuild the Gaza Strip, calling it a “recipe for creating chaos and tension in the region.” This comes after Trump announced plans for the U.S. to take over the Gaza Strip, level it, and rebuild the area during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hamas, which initiated the conflict in Gaza with an attack on Israel, believes that Trump’s plan to rebuild the territory is unjust and rewards the Zionist occupation. The group stated to the Associated Press that instead of holding Israel accountable for crimes against the Palestinian people, they are being rewarded.
Following the attack by Hamas on Israel in 2023, the Israeli military entered the Gaza Strip in an effort to eliminate the terrorist group. This conflict has left much of the territory uninhabitable, with the U.N. estimating that around 90% of Gaza’s population has been internally displaced.
A senior Hamas official told Fox News that Trump’s plan is a “crime against humanity” and demanded that the U.S. and other mediators ensure the implementation of ceasefire agreements without manipulation or delay.
The timing of Trump’s announcement has raised concerns about the current ceasefire agreement in Gaza, particularly regarding the release of hostages held by Hamas. Fox News’ Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst highlighted the significance of Trump’s remarks in light of ongoing negotiations and the delicate situation in Gaza.
Overall, Hamas’s rejection of Trump’s proposal for the U.S. to rebuild Gaza underscores the complex political and humanitarian challenges facing the region. The situation in Gaza remains tense, with uncertainty surrounding the implementation of ceasefire agreements and the future of the Palestinian people in the area.
