Health Canada recalling several baby loungers, warns of suffocation risks

Health Canada Issues Recall for Seven Baby Loungers

Health Canada has announced a recall of seven baby loungers due to safety concerns for infants. The department has warned of the overall risks these products pose and emphasized that the safest place for a baby to sleep is on their back, alone in a crib, cradle, or bassinet that meets Canadian safety regulations.

As part of a sampling and evaluation program, Health Canada has identified several baby nests and loungers that do not meet safety regulations and are being recalled and removed from the market. Brands included in the recall are BChic and Chicure, FFQRLP Brand, HAPDEN Travel Portable Crib, Housbay, La Millou, Style Life Eleven, Zoomie Kids, and Vevor.

These products, which are available on online marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, AliExpress, Wayfair, and Vevor, are being recalled due to various hazard risks such as strangulation, choking, entrapment, and falling.

Parents and caregivers are urged to stop using these recalled baby loungers immediately and to follow safe sleep practices recommended by Health Canada. It is important to always place infants on their back to sleep in a crib, cradle, or bassinet that meets safety regulations to reduce the risk of injury or death.
