Homan blasts blue state as report shows it releasing illegals charged with ‘horrific’ crimes on low bails

Following a Massachusetts law that prohibits law enforcement cooperation with ICE, illegal immigrants charged with serious crimes such as child rape are being released on bail as low as $500 or even no bail at all. This has sparked outrage from Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border czar, who slammed Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healy and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, both Democrats, stating that they should be ashamed of their actions.

Despite Healey’s claim that Massachusetts is not a sanctuary state, a 2017 ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court prevents local and state law enforcement from working with ICE to assist with deportation operations. This ruling forces agencies to release criminal migrants onto the streets rather than complying with ICE detainers.

Recent reports have revealed that at least seven illegal immigrants charged with serious crimes, including child rape and fentanyl trafficking, have been released by local law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts. One disturbing case involved a 39-year-old Honduran national named Juan Alberto Rodezno-Marin, who was charged with multiple offenses including assault to rape. Despite prior arrests by ICE and a detainer being filed against him, Rodezno-Marin was released on his own recognizance by the Middlesex Superior Court.

In another case, two illegal immigrants charged with child rape were released on bail of just $500 by the Worcester County Jail. Additionally, a 49-year-old Guatemalan national facing charges of forcible rape of a child was released on bail with an order to stay in his home. These releases have raised concerns about public safety and the risk of re-offending.

In response to these releases, ICE has conducted a series of operations in the Boston area, resulting in the arrest of 370 illegal immigrants, including individuals wanted for murder, drug traffickers, and child sex predators. Tom Homan praised the efforts of law enforcement officers and agents for making the neighborhoods of Boston and Massachusetts safer by arresting these criminals on the streets.

Critics of Healey and Wu argue that their refusal to cooperate with ICE and deport criminal illegals is putting the public at risk. The Massachusetts Republican Party representative, Logan Trupiano, expressed outrage over the release of illegal immigrants charged with heinous crimes and emphasized the importance of deporting criminal offenders to prevent them from re-offending.

The ongoing debate over immigration policies in Massachusetts highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement in balancing public safety with the protection of immigrant rights. As ICE continues its efforts to arrest and remove criminal illegal immigrants, the issue remains a contentious topic in the state and beyond.
