Home Alone house up for sale for $3.8M in Chicago suburb
Iconic ‘Home Alone’ Neighbor’s House Listed for Sale in Winnetka
Social media is buzzing with excitement as the house next to the iconic “Home Alone” house in Winnetka, Illinois, has been put up for sale. Located at 681 Lincoln Avenue, the six-bedroom, seven-bath property is now on the market for nearly $3.8 million.
In the beloved 1990 holiday film, the house belonged to Old Man Marley, the mysterious neighbor of Kevin McCallister. Despite its eerie depiction in the movie, the house boasts impressive features such as a large outdoor pool, a putting green, and a half-basketball court.
For those interested in purchasing this piece of cinematic history, it’s important to heed Marley’s words, “You’re never too old to be afraid.”
‘Home Alone’ House Also Under Contract
In a separate development, the famous “Home Alone” house at 671 Lincoln Ave. has a sale pending on Zillow. The over 9,000-square-foot property was listed for $5.2 million and features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an indoor sports court.
The iconic brick home, dating back to 1920, gained recognition well before its Hollywood debut. In 1974, its newly-renovated kitchen was featured in “Better Homes & Gardens” magazine, setting the stage for its future fame as the McAllister house.
Former owners John and Cynthia Abendshien resided in the house during the filming of “Home Alone” in 1988. After selling the property in 2012, it is now set to have a new owner.
