House Oversight chair demands Jean-Pierre, others testify on Biden mental decline

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is intensifying its investigation into the alleged cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s mental decline. Influential House committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., is demanding that former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and three other former top White House staffers appear before Congress to testify about the matter.

Comer has been determined to uncover who was making decisions in Biden’s inner circle during the president’s apparent mental decline. In letters sent to Karine-Pierre, former White House chief of staff Jeff Zients, former senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates, and former special assistant to the president Ian Sams, Comer demanded that they present themselves for transcribed interviews with the oversight committee.

The committee believes that these four top Biden staffers have crucial information on \”who made key decisions and exercised the powers of the executive branch during the previous administration, possibly without former President Biden’s consent.\” Comer emphasized the need to investigate if White House staff carried out a strategy to hide the president’s condition or perform his duties without his knowledge.

The letters set interview dates in late August and early September, with the officials given until July 4 to confirm their compliance voluntarily or face a subpoena. Jean-Pierre, Zients, Bates, and Sams are the latest former Biden senior officials to receive a congressional summons as part of the Oversight Committee’s investigation. Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician, and Anthony Bernal, former assistant to the president and senior advisor to the first lady, were also subpoenaed after refusing to appear voluntarily.

Comer stated that the investigation into the cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline and potentially unauthorized executive actions is crucial. He highlighted the false narrative perpetuated by Biden’s inner circle and the media regarding his mental fitness to serve as president. The committee aims to hear from those who aided and abetted the alleged cover-up.

Jean-Pierre, Zients, Bates, and Sams did not respond to requests for comment before publication. The House Committee’s investigation continues to gain momentum as it delves into the inner workings of the Biden administration during a tumultuous time.
