House Republican launches campaign finance committee for Iowa governor race

Rep. Randy Feenstra of Iowa is making significant strides towards a potential gubernatorial run, as reported exclusively by Fox News Digital. Feenstra, a Republican congressman, has assembled a finance committee consisting of 47 prominent donors and business leaders in Iowa to support his potential campaign.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support his campaign has garnered, Feenstra stated, “Our finance committee will ensure we have the resources necessary for victory. I cannot thank our supporters enough for their support and confidence in our campaign.”
While Feenstra has not officially declared his candidacy for governor, he has taken several preliminary steps in preparation for the 2026 elections. Last month, he announced his exploration of a gubernatorial run following the decision of current Governor Kim Reynolds, a Republican, to not seek another term.
Feenstra has also established a “Feenstra for Governor” organizing committee, hinting at his imminent entry into what is expected to be a crowded field of candidates vying for the open gubernatorial seat in Iowa.
Key members of Feenstra’s campaign committee include Kurt Croell, a prominent donor to Reynolds and former President Donald Trump, and members of the Doll family, owners of Doll Distributing beer company. Additionally, West Des Moines Mayor Russ Trimble and Nutratech executives Andy and Russ Kosky are among the supporters backing Feenstra’s potential bid for governor.
As the representative of Iowa’s 4th Congressional District since 2021, Feenstra holds pivotal roles in the House as a member of both the Agriculture and Ways & Means Committees, showcasing his experience and qualifications for higher office.
In the Republican primary race for governor, Feenstra faces competition from other candidates such as state lawmaker Eddie Andrews and former state representative Brad Sherman. The potential entry of Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird into the race could escalate the political showdown in the GOP primary.
On the Democratic side, declared candidates include Iowa auditor Rob Sand and Julie Stauch, who served as the Iowa political director for Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 presidential campaign.
The gubernatorial race in Iowa is shaping up to be a highly contested and closely watched political battle, with a diverse array of candidates vying for the opportunity to lead the state. Stay tuned for more updates on Rep. Randy Feenstra’s potential gubernatorial campaign.
