Investigation continues 25 years after Margaret Hartrick homicide in Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, N.S. — Halifax police are continuing to investigate the killing of 35-year-old Margaret Hartrick 25 years after her death.
Hartrick was found unconscious in a wooded area behind Harbourview School at 25 Alfred Street in Dartmouth.
On arrival, officers found Hartrick lying unconscious in the wooded area. She had suffered trauma to her head and was taken to QEII hospital where she died on Sept. 18.
She was 35-years-old at the time of her death.
Investigation revealed that Hartrick had been assaulted in the wooded area. Investigators believe there are people who have information that could advance the investigation into Hartrick’s murder.
They urge witnesses to share any information they remember with investigators, no matter how small the detail.
“It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation,” Halifax Regional Police said in a release.
